Grandma Dot – in real life – was Jennifer’s mother Dorothy Bates and known to her friends as Dot. After a short illness and at the age of 86 years, Dot passed away on May 15, 2015 in her hometown of Auckland, New Zealand.
Dot always led a very active life and in her younger years she was part of a singing group and enjoyed acting in a play or pantomime. Her favourite sports were tennis and lawn bowls and she loved gardening.
Mother to 4 children, grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, she will be missed very much by her family and friends. Dot was a wonderful mother to Pauline, Geoff, Steve and Jennifer and they loved and adored her very much. In the coming years, she will be known as the lovable character “Grandma Dot” from Cotsville and little children everywhere will know her name. Again she will walk and talk, sing and dance with little Bonnie by her side and won’t that be fun!
